When a Book Just Won't End

Okay, I wrote the 50,000 words for NaNo, but the story wasn't over. It could have been, but I didn't like the loose ends that would be left hanging, unanswered. So I continue to write, and now my characters have taken over. Everytime I think I'm getting close to the end, something new happens to throw things off and send me down a whole new branch of information. I really like some the things that are happening, but I have to wonder, when will it end?

At what point do I say, "Enough!"?

Of course, I can't just say 'enough'. I must finish the story, and all it's little extras. My goal is to finish it before tomorrow night midnight, but it's starting to look doubtful. Once I get past this latest oddity my characters have thrown at me, I think I'll be able to wrap the story up.

I hope.

Of course, then I'll have to go back and do all the editing I've been skipping all month.

Gee, I don't know when enough is enough. Never had that problem. I WISH I did. I could use a longer story. :)

Amazing site, wonderful to read the sense of accomplishment of completion and the journey to that point...
