One of the blogs I read on occasion is written by a fellow named Travis Erwin. On January 4, 2009 his home burned to the ground. Thankfully, both he and his wife and both their young sons and the dogs are okay, but they lost everything. Some other very nice bloggers, Erica Orloff and Stephen Parish have set up a site where the rest of us can do something to help.

Isn't it wonderful how people are rallying around Travis? I need to make an announcement on my blog too.
Thank you. This tough time has been made easier by the support, well-wishes, and compassion of others all over the globe. My entire family realizes the blessings we can hold onto in this tough time.
